These are filled with RAW HEMP EXTRACT (green), which means it has not been processed through Chromatography or decarboxylated. This is important because it means that all of the CBDA, as well as all the other cannabinoids and trace elements, are present and in their original ratios as designed by nature. Hemp extract is equal in CBD and CBDA cannabinoids until it is heated to make other products. So, in this natural state, you get the benefits of CBD and CBDA and several hundred trace elements which are not present in other types of extracts. More importantly, you get the benefit of the “Entourage Effect”.
The Entourage Effect is where the various cannabinoids and phytonutrients and trace elements all heighten the effect of each other. So, instead of you just getting the effect of CBD and the effect of CBDA, for instance, you get the heightened effect of CBD influenced by CBDA. And, you get the heightened effect of CBDA influenced by CBD. And, this happens for EVERY cannabinoid and trace element.
While each batch of concentrate has some natural variations, ours has between 65-75 mg of CBD and 75-85 mg of CBDA per gram of product.
Directions: Highland Pharms Full Spectrum Hemp Oil is potent. Place a couple drops under the tongue and hold for 30-60 seconds. You should notice the effects after 30-60 minutes.
Alternatively, you may decarboxylate (cook raw hemp just like a raw potato) it first, this will increase its bio-availability. In other words, your body will be able to use the compound right away and it should work faster. If you consume CBDA, your body is forced to work extra hard to break down the molecule and it also uses the acid form of CBD differently.
Do I really need to decarboxylate? You would be forgiven for thinking that CBD decarboxylation is unnecessary. After all, why do you need to decarb a strain that’s already non-psychoactive? However, the same rules apply because raw cannabis contains the acid form of CBD, known as CBDA.
There is some dispute over the right decarboxylation temperature of CBD, although it is typically higher than that of THC. Bear in mind that it’s boiling point is between 320 and 356 degrees Fahrenheit, so the latter should be the maximum temperature you use, with most users opting for less than 320 degrees. As for time frame, it depends on the temperature! Certainly, you should be aiming for between 30 and 60 minutes.
The term ‘decarboxylation’ refers to the chemical reaction that removes a carboxyl group and releases carbon dioxide or in layman’s terms it changes CBDA to CBD effectively removing the acids.
